George's Bistro at the Sands Hotel is open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. We have family-friendly areas for diners who want some privacy from the more energetic pub atmosphere, but you are welcome to take your meal into any area of the pub to eat.

Our chef George Kovalcik has come out of retirement just for us! After 33 years in the industry, (including 4 years as head-chef for the famous Beppis Italian Restaurant in East Sydney), George thought he was ready to retire. But food is in his blood, and he is passionate about cooking, so after a 3 year hiatus, George is back: with a new bistro here at the Sands Hotel offering the very best of Northern Italian cuisine, and a fresh take on the old favourite pub meals.

At the Sands Hotel, we know how a well-matched wine can turn a good food experience into a GREAT food experience. So to this end, we offer a special selection of wine-by-the-glass that we truly believe will compliment your meal. Not happy with our selection? - then you are welcome to purchase any wine from our bottle-shop to enjoy with your meal - at bottle-shop prices, with no corkage charge.
